Vahagn Grigoryan

Managing Partner

Vahagn Grigoryan is the co-founder and managing partner of GM Legal law firm. He specializes in civil law, proceedings on confiscation of property of illegal origin, arbitration proceedings, bankruptcy, corporate law, intellectual property, and defamation lawsuits.

He obtained his advocate license in 2012. Vahagn is an arbitrator at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA), a member of the Association of Arbitrators of Armenia, and the Permanent Arbitration Court under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia.

Since 2014, he has been teaching the subject “Civil Procedure” at the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University. He is currently a lecturer and associate professor at the Chair of Civil Procedure of the Faculty of Law at YSU.

Vahagn Grigoryan is the author of several monographs and scientific articles, as well as a co-author of textbooks.

Education

He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Faculty of Law, Yerevan State University. From 2012 to 2015, he studied at the postgraduate program of YSU, at the Chair of Civil Procedure, earning the degree of a PhD in Law. From 2019 to 2020, with a Visby scholarship awarded by the Swedish Institute (SI), he studied at Uppsala University in Sweden, earning a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Intellectual Property Law.

Professional Experience

Since 2010, he has worked in various law firms and collaborated with numerous international organizations. As an expert, he has cooperated with the EU, UN, and several international advisory organizations on projects for justice reform and e-justice tools development. He has also taught at the Academy of Justice and the Academy of Advocates.
